What’s happening this term?
In Reception class the children will be consolidating their understanding of 1-10. They will be investigating the composition of 1-10, matching different representations, plus recognising and ordering 1-10. The children will also to completing simple patterns, naming and finding properties of 2D and 3D shapes.
We will be having themed weeks based on traditional tales and well know stories. We will be reading classics such as: The Three Little Pigs, The Owl Babies, Red Riding Hood and The Three Billy Goats Gruff. The children will be learning phase 3 phonemes this term. They will be using their phonics knowledge to help them to read and write simple words and sentences.
Other Areas of Learning
Our theme for the term is traditional stories and rhymes. We have got lots of exciting things planned for this half term. The children will be going to the library and local church as well as finding out about the changes in seasons.
Reading books are changed every Wednesday or Thursday.
Home-School books will be given out every Friday and need to be handed back in the following Wednesday.
Snack money is £2 per week
