What’s happening this half term?
Our theme this half term is colour and food. We will be having themed weeks based on Goldilocks, We’re Going On A Hunt and Oliver’s Vegetables, After the October half term, the children will be doing themed work around festivals and light.
Maths
We will be subitising (recognising up to five objects on sight), counting objects, as well as recognising and ordering numbers to ten, The children will be adding and subtracting amounts and finding one more and one fewer than any number up to ten. We will be working on recognising 2D and 3D shapes as well as creating and continuing patterns.
English
We will be having themed weeks based on Goldilocks, We’re Going On A Hunt and Oliver’s Vegetables, Room on a Broom, autumn, Diwali and the Christmas Story. We will be learning all the letter sounds this term and working on learning to read simple words that we can sound out. Our focus for writing is that the children learn to write all the letters of the alphabet using the correct letter formation. We also work on writing simple words, labels and captions.
Useful Information
Reading books are changed every Monday.
Home-School books will be given out every Friday and need to be handed back in the following Tuesday.
Snack money is £2 per week

We have been learning all about Diwali
We made diva lamps. We read the story of Rama and Sita and loved acting it out using masks.
Spooky Spiders
Reception class enjoyed making spooky spiders today. They were that delicious the children ate them all up.
